What a history!
Stracchino dates back to time immemorial, when it was made by farmers as they took short breaks when bringing their cattle down from the mountain pastures to the lowlands. It was made with the small amounts of milk produced by the cows which were tired (‘stracche’ in Italian) from the long journey, hence the name Stracchino.

Ultra-versatile, this spreadable cheese is perfect for a quick main course or to give risottos, pasta and other first courses a creamy consistency. It is also tasty on its own, in fact nothing beats it spread on a slice of toast!
